Description
Our natural laurel leaf essential oil for aromatherapy is obtained from the plant with the botanical name Laurus nobilis. In international practice the product is designated as Bay leaf natural essential oil for aromatherapy. The plant belongs to the family Lauraceae, which unites evergreen tree species that accumulate essential oils in their tissues, and therefore its raw material remains aromatic. The species reaches the size of a tree or of a large shrub. The tree grows in Bulgaria, where the plant material comes from. The material grows under a natural cultivation method, which shapes the fully natural composition of the oil and determines the character of its volatile part. Preservatives and colourants are not part of the composition, since the oil comprises only the volatile fraction separated from the tissues of the evergreen tree itself. The purity of the composition is complemented by the extraction method, which preserves the natural profile of the plant and its olfactory character. The extraction takes place by steam distillation, and it preserves the purity of the scent. Steam distillation brings out a wide range of volatile compounds characteristic of the raw material of this species. The set of compounds gives the product an olfactory characteristic that follows the plant source and its natural features. The preserved profile determines both the olfactory and the physical traits of the liquid. The scent reveals fresh and herbal tones, to which a spicy-woody note is added. The leading volatile constituents in this botanical species are eucalyptol, terpinyl acetate and terpineol, and they explain the fresh and herbal side of the scent. The intensity of the scent remains high, while the consistency of the product remains liquid. The product gets its light yellow tone from the leaves that serve for the extraction.
Application
Natural laurel leaf essential oil finds application above all in aromatherapy, where its delicate herbal and slightly woody aroma creates a calm and balanced atmosphere at home, in the relaxation room or in spaces for yoga and meditation. The scent supports the calming of the nervous system and the relief of tension, which is why it is included in evening relaxation rituals, in preparation for restful sleep and for recovery after a busy day. The fresh and invigorating character is also suitable for waking up in the morning, for increasing concentration and for maintaining a clear mind during work. The product is used in diffusers, aroma lamps and dispersing devices, as well as in inhalation blends that direct attention to breathing and help balance the emotions. Its natural scent supports the creation of a cosy environment, encourages inner peace and contributes to a stable emotional state under stress. It also finds a place in mindfulness practices, where it contributes to harmonising the mind and body, to lifting the spirit and to a feeling of lightness. It is suitable for building personal rest rituals that refresh the home and maintain a balanced and calm feeling throughout the day.
